Mango, one of the leading international fashion groups, has received the prestigious "Camera Spagna-Italia All'Internazionalizzazione Award" at the 18th edition of the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce Awards in Italy. This recognition highlights Mango's commitment to international expansion and its commitment to consolidating in strategic markets such as Italy, where it continues to strengthen its presence.

The award was collected by Daniel Yuste, Mango's Expansion Manager, during the ceremony that took place at the Palazzo Mezzanotte in Milan. Yuste highlighted the essential role of the internal teams in the success of the company's expansion plan in the country. "This recognition is the result of the joint efforts of all the teams that make it possible for Mango to continue to bring its passion for fashion and lifestyle to every corner of the world. Italy, as a strategic market, will continue to be a key country in our future plans," he said.

"Congratulations to Mango for the well-deserved award, a solid and enterprising partner of our Chamber which has chosen Italy as a strategic market, preparing a development and growth plan that will undoubtedly confirm the success achieved in other countries", said Luigi Patìmo, President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Italy.

    Mango in Italy

Mango has been present in Italy since 2001. During the 2010s, the company exponentially expanded its presence in the country with more than 50 stores, combining high street stores in the main cities with corners throughout the country. In 2022, Mango continued with its expansion plan in the country with the opening of new stores throughout the year, reaching close to 80 stores. In 2023, Mango continued with its expansion plan with approximately fifteen store openings, especially in the north of the country, with new stores in cities such as Bologna and Turin, as well as in major cities such as Rome, Milan and Florence, which led the company to close the year with 92 stores and a digital presence through its own online channel and other marketplaces.

In 2024, the company has intensified its expansion plan in the country, with the opening of approximately 15 new stores, including company stores and franchises. Expansion is particularly focused on central and southern Italy, with a focus on the capital, as well as on large northern cities such as Bologna and Genoa. Key among the new store openings in Italy in 2024 is the flagship store with more than 1,300 m² in the Alberto Sordi shopping gallery in Rome, located in the commercial heart of the city, as well as the entry of Mango for the first time in Genoa. In addition, the company is refurbishing several stores in the country to incorporate the New Med concept, designed to reflect the fresh, Mediterranean spirit of the brand. These refurbishments include the flagship store in Galleria del Corso, in the historic centre of Milan. Mango will also continue to refurbish stores in train stations, such as the outlets in Florence and Venice, both of which stock the Woman line.

An expansion plan with which Mango has added more than 30 new stores in Italy during the last three years, going from 73 in 2021 to the forecast of ending the year with over 100 stores in the country. This growth reinforces Italy’s position as one of the key markets in Mango's 4E 2024-2026 Strategic Plan, which envisages over 500 new store openings worldwide by 2026. With a presence in the country's main cities, the company currently has a team of around 700 people in Italy, a figure that has grown by 63% compared to 2019.

While celebrating 40 years of history, the brand is reaffirming its commitment to continue inspiring the world with its fashion proposal, strengthening its presence in international markets and consolidating its leadership in the retail sector. Mango has consolidated its position as one of the leading international fashion groups, with a major presence in more than 120 markets, close to 2,800 stores and 15,500 employees worldwide. In line with the second pillar of its 4E Strategic Plan, Expand, the company aims to exceed 2,800 stores by the end of 2024 and to reach more than 3,000 stores worldwide by 2026. This growth will enable it to exceed one million square metres of retail space, highlighting markets such as Spain, France, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Poland, India, Canada and the United States.
